A Bollywood favorite, Mickey Contractor has worked his magic wand on stars like Kajol, Priyanka Chopra and Aishwary Rai, as well as co-created a makeup line with M.A.C. The most important advice he gave Vogue India Magazine? “Quite trying to look fairer and embrace your natural skin tone”.

Pat McGrath

Celebrity and editorial makeup artist, and now founder of eponymous makeup brand, McGrath told British Vogue Magazine about her viral brand launch. “When Pat McGrath Labs was born two years ago, it encapsulated my obsessions, inspirations and addictions. My intention in creating it was to thank my makeup-obsessed followers with the most divine gold pigment ever formulated. When I discovered it, I knew I couldn’t wait the two years most brands need to do a full protection run. The idea of a product ‘drop’ came from musicians, and what was happening in fashion with streetwear brands. Ninety days later, I dropped Gold 001 and it was insane: 2,000,000 people tried to buy 1,000 units and it was all gone in six seconds”.

Emily Weiss

Founder of beauty website Into The Gloss, Weiss was a writer who went on to create a cult-favorite, direct –to-consumer skincare and makeup line called Glossier. She spoke to Vogue France about his transition in October 2018. “We have an editorial background, which means we’ve tried hundreds, probably thousands, or products and we also have an incredibly knowledgeable community that we’ve in constant conservation with. For example, as editors, we know that there wasn’t a holy grail cleanser on the market. So when we set out to create one, we turned to our Into The Gloss readers and asked them to describe their dream face wash. Thousands of comments and twelve months later, Milky Jelly Cleanser launched and now it’s one of our bestselling products”.

Adhuna Bhabi

Famed for her fearless approach to all things hair, Bhabani is a film and celebrity hairstylist who co-founded the BBlunt Salon and a line of hair products. Speaking to Vogue India about her hair philosophy, she said, “Experiment! The great thing about hair is that it grows back!”.

Hudda Kattan

Beauty influencer and founder of makeup brand Huda Beauty told Vogue India, “I think of myself as everyone’s beauty BFF. I was one of the early adopters of social media, in particular Instagram, which is now our biggest platform. Our values have never changed and we genuinely use our platforms to share our love for beauty, and support other artists. I always try to be as real as possible on social media, and pride myself in one supporting brands I love and truly believe in. we try makeup beauty as fun as possible and easily. Accessible, so sometimes you’ll see fun or crazy videos that we love to create to share with our community”.
