KING SALMAN PRESIDES OVER LAYING OF FOUNDATION STONE OF DIRIYAH GATE

Work officially began on Diriyah Gate on Wednesday, when King Salman attended the official ground-breaking ceremony and laid the foundation stone.

Work on the SR 64 billion ($17 billion) development, one of the most important projects in the Kingdom, will bring in earnest in January. It will create a global tourism destination that combines a modern city with world-class historical and cultural attractions that reflect the area’s rich heritage.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense witnessed Friday, the launching of the opening round of the second session of FIA ABB Formula E Championship, for electric cars, in Diriyah, organized by the International Automobile Federation, at the outset of the Diriyah Season activities.

Riyadh season extended to January 2020

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and President of Riyadh Season Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al Al-Sheikh has announced the extension of Riyadh Season.

He said in a statement that the Season will end as scheduled in mid-December, but the extension will include only some of the events due to increasing demand, namely: Winter Wonderland, Al-Murabba, Safari and Riyadh Sahara, which will be extended to 18 January 2020, while Riyadh Boulevard will be extended to the end of March 2020.

Due to high demand and the amazing turnout of Riyadh Season, the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority Turki Al-Sheikh announced the season will be extended to late January via Twitter on Monday.

He wrote: “We have reached 7,650,000 visitors in month (for Riyadh Season). And under the Crown Prince’s directives, we’re extending the season until late January”.

SAUDI ARABIA OPENS TOURIST VISAS TO U.S., EUROPEAN VISA HOLDERS

Tourist visas for Saudi Arabia are now available online and on arrival to holidaymakers who already hold a visa from the United States, Britain or the EU’s Schengen zone, expanding eligibility beyond an initial list of 49 countries.

Executive regulations published over the weekend over the weekend stipulate that people from other countries who have a tourist or commercial visa from the United States, Britain or European Union nations can follow the same process, rather than applying at a Saudi overseas mission with additional documentation.

SAUDI ARABIA TO DELIVER FIRST BATCH OF PREMIUM RESIDENCY NEXT MONTH

Saudi Arabia is expected to deliver the first batch of premium residence permits in mid-November.

The Saudi government announced in June that it would start receiving application for those who wish to obtain special residency through the comprehensive electronic platform, SAPRC.

The Saudi historical film talks about King Faisal’s early life – from his birth in 1906 to his return from England in 1920 – and describes the first important diplomatic journey of a Saudi citizen to the British Royal Court, where there, the young Prince Faisal – 13 years old – had to meet with King George V of England, and other personalities such as Winston Churchill, Lawrence of Arabia, and Foreign Secretary Lord Curzon.
