FASHION | Aquazzura Collaborates With A Turkish Jewellery Designer On A Dazzling Capsule

What happens when modern dolce vita meets opulence? A dazzling capsule of glittering accessories that are perfect for the festive season.

Edgardo Osoria, the founder of one of our favorite going-out shoes brands Aquazzura, has collaborated with his close friend and Turkish designer Begum Khan on a collection of pieces that compliment both of the brands aesthetics, and look dizzyingly beautiful.

Consisting of earrings, necklaces and pouches cast from bronze, a material, the capsule represents the history and heritage of Ottomans jewellery in a contemporary way. The pieces feature symbols such as the Beetle, also known as “Khepri”, that symbolizes “good luck” and “immortality” in Egyptian Mythology. Te Rooster embodies “sun” and “resurrection” in Chinese culture, while the Pineapple, the Aquazzura logo, is a symbol of friendship, prosperity and hospitality.

Eight different styles each exquisitely handcrafted, by artisans in Istanbul, from 24K gold plated bronze and embellished with crystals, root rubies, root emeralds, quartz and citrines, all offer colorful and sophisticated designs with a touch of extravaganza.

Osorio always designs with the aim to make women feel beautiful and regularly decorates his shoes with fun elements like pompom’s and embellishment. Begum Khan draws influence from the opulence of the Ottoman Empire and South-East Asian traditions for her regal jewellery.

“For me, Edgardo has always been a great inspiration and also a great friend. He is one of the most colorful and elegant persons I know. It was so inspiring and exciting for me to be his partner in crime to translate his sense of elegance to jewellery”, she said.
