
RIYADH – The General Directorate of Passports affirmed the importance of all visitors with a visit visa to adhere to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s regulation and instructions, and to abide to extend the visit visa before its expiry date, stressing that who is not abiding to extend the visa, he/she shall be exposed to the penalties prescribed by the law.
The Passports said that the service to extend the visit is available through the portal of the Ministry of Interior ‘Absher’, as this service enables individuals who issued a visit visa to extend the visa according to the rules of service, nothing that the remaining period in the validity of the visa should be 7 days or less, and the expiry date does not more than 3 days, and the owner of the visa (the visitor) is inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It added that the fees for the extension of the visa should be paid, adding the visitor should ensure that his/her passport is still valid at the time of the extension process with no unpaid traffic violations.
The Passports said that both of the visa applicant and the visa holder should be alive, and the total period of the visit visa after the extension does not exceed 180 days from the date of entry into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It affirmed that the extension will take place according to the basic period in which the visa was issued.
The Passports added that the visa’s validity period and its extension must be verified by logging in Absher in order to avoid the penalties prescribed by law against violators and so their residency will be legal in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
