She joined the many celebrities speaking out and showing support for people protesting nationwide after George Floyd died on Monday in Minneapolis, as a result of a police officer kneeling on his neck for several minutes.
Jenner shared her words along s quote by Matin Luther King, Jr: ‘There comes a time when silence is betrayal’.
‘Since watching the most devastating and completely heartbreaking video showing the murder of George Floys earlier this week, I haven’t been able to get his face and his words out of my mind’, she wrote.
‘I’ll never personality experience the pain and fear that many black people around the country go through every day, but I know nobody should have to live in fear and nobody deserves a death like George Floyd and too many others’.
She said ‘speaking up is long overdue’ and the public can’t sit back and ignore that racism is one of the two ‘horrific pandemics’ the U.S. is currently.
She also spoke about how she fears for her daughter Stormi, whose father Travis Scott is black.
‘I fear for my daughter and I hope for a better future for her’, she said.
Jenner said her heart was broken for Floyd’s family and friends, and implored her flowers not to forget his name.
‘Keep sharing, keep watching, keep speaking out, because it’s the only way we can come together to help bring this much needed change and awareness’, she said. ‘Rest In Peace, George Ployd’.
