
A royal decree starts that government office and agencies in Saudi Arabia must nod display art by Saudi Artists.
The announcement that Saudi art should be displayed within government buildings comes after a proposal by the Minister of Culture to Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, which included a list of acquired works of art, traditional home made goods and crafts that are all from the kingdom.
The masterpieces will be added to the National Register for Artistic Works, which were approved by the Council of Ministers in 2019.
Prince Bader bin Farhan, the Saudi Minister of Culture thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for supporting Saudi Arabia’s ever-growing art scene, and for directing government agencies to limit the acquisition of artworks to local/national works in their official headquarters.
