PARIS, France – For sun seekers, beachgoers, and everyone in between, keeping your skin protected against harmful UVA and UVB rays just got a whole lot easier.
Announced today, tennis champion Noami Osaka’s sun – and skincare brand, KINLO, is exclusively partnering with Walmart to expand its offerings online and in 2,500 stores nationwide.
‘Naomi is truly a pioneer in her work to build a future of skincare that’s formulated for melanated skin, while shining a light on the unmet needs affecting people of color’, U.S. marchandise director of beauty at Walmart Angel Basely said in a statement.’ Adding the KINLO product line to Walmart aligns squarely with our mission to better serve the needs of all of our customers. Walmart is ultra – focused on reflecting our diverse customers and advancing racial equity’.
In addition to a retail collaboration, the brand is also introducing new shade selections for its best – selling Golden Rays Sunscreen SPF 50+, which now features light, medium, and deep options to suit a wider range of skin tones.
‘I started KINLO to educate others about proper sun protection, no matter what they look like or where they live’, Osaka said of her line. ‘Offering KINLO products at Walmart is a huge step in bringing suncare awareness and accessibility to a national level’.
To complete your face and body skin care rotation, you can also shop a number of new brand SKUs at Walmart, including KINLO’s tinted and SPF 40 Always Golden Daily Moisturizer, Always Golden Body Lotion, Sunscreen Stick with SPF 30, Cooling Body Gel Moisturizer, and Sun Spot Brightening Moisturizer.
KINLO was one of our favorite beauty launches of 2021, making its direct – to – consumer retail debut last Summer. The brand extended its collection in December with the release of two oils: the Hydrating Facial Oil, which contains a blend of jojoba and olive oil, and KINLO’s Coconut Body Oil, which was created to use alone or as a carrier oil to dilute essential oil.
‘The perfect way to end the day – especially after spending in the sun – is to restore moisture to your skin’, Osaka previously told. ‘I love these two new products because they provide head – to – toe moisture, and are made from all – natural ingredients. Hydration is key for all skin types year around, but it’s especially important for melanated skin during the winter months and changing of seasons’.
Osaka has undoubtedly made a name for herself on tennis courts worldwide, and now she’s channeling that same star power into her line. KINLO – with Kin and Lo translating to ‘gold’ in Japanese and Haitian Creole, respectively – isn’t just another celebrity skincare venture. The range was formulated by Osaka for Black, Brown, and Asian Pacific communities, with the help of top experts, including Dr.Naana Boakey, founder of Bergen Dermatology in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
