ROYALS | Princess Salma Makes History As The First Young Woman In Jordan To Graduate Pilot Training

Women has excelled and proved themselves over and over again in the Middle East and this story comes with another exciting news – Princess Salma bint Abdullah II of Jordan made history this week by becoming the first woman in Hashemite Kingdom to earn her wings as a military pilot. The royal was presented with the prestigious accolade by none other than her proud father, His Majesty King Abdullah II himself at Amman’s Al Husseiniya Palace. Queen Rania Al – Abdullah and Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah joined Princess Salma to mark her achievement.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the pilots of the Aviation Wing, the King Hussein Air College Commandant, the Commander of the Aviation Wing, and the Commander of the Royal Air Force, also attended the ceremony.

Crown Prince Hussein took to Instagram congratulating his sister and wrote, “Brilliant and hard-working as always! Congrats on receiving your winds and here’s to more success and achievements”.

Not long ago, Princess Salma graduated from England’s distinguished Royal Military Acadrmy Sandhurst in November 2018 where she completed a Short Commissioning Course just like her father and older brother. At the time, Queen Rania took to Instagram sharing moments from Princess Salma’s graduation ceremony with the message, “From a graduation gown a few months ago to a military uniform today, you have proven how capable you are! Congratulations to our daughter Salma on graduating from a Short Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst!
