The American University Of Dubai Is Offering Up A Diploma In Being An Influencer

If you’ve always wanted to be a social media influencer and didn’t quite known how to go about it, you might not need to look too far from home.

From September 2019, the American University of Dubai (AUD) will be offering up a course on how to become a full-time influencer. The course comes a collaborative venture by AUD and the Mohammed bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC), and “was developed by an elite group of university professor with different specializations in media, strategic communications, journalism and media innovation” and “will cover all aspects of social media through six courses”, as stated by Dean of the Mohammed bin Rashid School for Communication, Ali Jaber.

AUD will be structuring a six diploma programmed on how to make a lucrative career on social media, and will be accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education. Developing creative content for various social media platforms, strategizing and public speaking are just some of the modules covered on the course.

Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, President of the Dubai Press Club, said in a statement, “The programme comes in line with Dubai’s vision to develop and empower talented individuals in various fields and enhance their role and contributions in the advancement of their communities. The launch of the first academic programme of its kind in the Middle East East and North African (MENA) region for social media influencers will have a direct positive impact on designed to be aligned with the objectives of the Arab Social Media Influencers’ Club (ASMIC), which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai three years ago. ASMIC has now become an important platform dedicated to enhancing the role of influencers and encouraging innovation and creativity in the different fields that influencers operate within.
